My Work

A painting of FDR referenced from a photograph taken in 1900
Not for Sale

Frank Roosevelt

48" x 30"

2006

I painted this picture of FDR as a student to embellish a suite of rooms in what is now Adams House, at Harvard University; while the suite is being restored to its appearance and condition in that era (as nearly as these can be reconstructed). Temporarily, of course, for such a portrait would not have been there in 1903.

The reference photograph was taken of FDR in 1900, in his last year in prep school at Groton; this was also his first year at Harvard.
